The TreeTag
At just 3.5” long and a few ounces, the TreeTag is a compact sensor delivering real-time insights into crop water status and environmental conditions. Its dendrometer directly measures tree growth to detect water stress, while accelerometer, temperature, and humidity sensors provide additional context. Powered by a solar panel and hybrid capacitor, the TreeTag sustains itself for over a decade, even under dense canopies. Data is wirelessly transmitted to a gateway up to 1 km away, making it ideal for orchards and vineyards of any scale.
What's Included
Inside the box you will find a fully assembled, solar powered TreeTag with appropriate mounting hardware. To install the TreeTag you will need a 1/8" or 19/64" drill bit (not included), depending on the kind of tree where you will be installing the sensor. Just drill a pilot hole, install a single mounting screw with a 1/4" hex driver. Finally, attach the TreeTag to the mounting screw, again with the 1/4" hex driver.
Irrigation Intelligence Backend
Data is nothing without access and interpretation, we provide both for $50/year, with the first year included in purchase. Note that the subscription will be automatically added to your cart if you add the TreeTag product to cart. We will not be able to ship the TreeTag product if the subscription is removed before checking out.
Each TreeTag is equipped with a dendrometer to measure radial growth, offering direct insights into plant health and water status. By combining this with accelerometer, temperature, and humidity readings, the system collects a detailed view of plant responses to environmental and irrigation conditions. The system processes these measurements into a Water Stress Index and delivers actionable recommendations through the API, enabling smarter irrigation.
The Data Portal offers convenient functionality to get started with dendrometry data and manage your TreeTags. View a detailed list of your devices, organize them into custom groups, and monitor connectivity and battery strength. Built-in tools allow users to graph and compare datasets, track irrigation impacts, and export historical data for deeper analysis or integration into third-party platforms.

Make sure you can access your data! Our TreeTags use LoRaWAN technology to connect to the data backend. We have a selection of gateways available or you can bring your own.
